Reversed, The World shifts toward incompleteness, seeking closure, and loose ends. A reversal is rarely the plain opposite of the upright card — it more often reads as the same energy blocked, turned inward, running in excess, or only just beginning to release. If reversals feel like too much while you are learning, it is perfectly normal to read every card upright at first and add them in later.
Where The World sits in the deck
The World is card XXI of the Major Arcana — the twenty-two cards that deal with the big turning points and life lessons rather than day-to-day detail. It closes the Major Arcana as completion, and the doorway back to the Fool.
